The universe is a genie waiting for your command—but only when we name our hopes, do we begin to recognize the shape of them in our everyday lives. We give them form. We create intention. We stay awake to what matters.
Each January, I sit with scissors, stickers, and a hopeful heart.
What started as a fun tradition with my friends has become one of my most cherished rituals.
Over time, it’s grown from our kitchen tables to community circles—like this week’s Vision Board & Chakra Cookies event with Mujeres Omega Foundation and our Kids and Moms program. Children and mothers side by side, dreaming aloud, decorating cookies, and learning how energy flows through our bodies… it was one of those moments that plants something tender and true.
This tradition—cutting out words and images, gluing hopes onto paper—has shaped more than just a collage.
It’s helped me shape my years.
Last year, one phrase stood out on my board:
Venezuela Libre.
I had written it in marker, surrounded by hopeful words and tiny stars.
I didn’t know how or when, but I hoped. I prayed. I named it.
And this January, just days ago, I realized I had witnessed history.
Venezuela turned a page.
A shift. A whisper of the freedom we’ve longed for.
I cried when I saw the news.
Not because all is solved, but because we dared to dream of it—
and for a moment, that dream looked back.
This year’s board is another kind of mirror.
It holds soft but powerful themes:
- Family
- Wellness
- Emotional growth
- Purposeful travel
- Community leadership
- A home office that aligns with my values
There’s a little sticker that says:
Find balance in every day —because I need that reminder too.
A photo of a suitcase with the word: Explore.
And front and center: New Beginnings.
It’s not about productivity.
It’s about intention.
This isn’t a to-do list for the year.
It’s about clarity.
Because what we name, finds us.
So this week, I invite you to pause.
Grab a few old magazines, or just a piece of paper.
Ask yourself:
What am I ready to name?
What does alignment look like for me this year?
What story do I want to look back on next January and say—I lived that?
Mine is already taking shape.
And if you’re looking for the perfect day to claim your spark, I’ve found mine:
Wednesdays.
Midweek.
When the momentum dips and the soul wants a reset.
I’ll be here each week—writing, reflecting, anchoring into purpose.
Because I’ve learned that when we claim our words,
we also claim our direction.
